Name and Place

John Campbell moved to the Illinois territory in 1807 and settled at the Irish Settlement, near the mouth of Nine Mile Creek. From his first location near the mouth of Nine Mile creek, he removed to a place four miles east of where Evansville now is, where he died in 1827.
